The Mount Sinai School Middle Years Program

Empowering Adolescents to Think Critically, Act Confidently, and Lead with Purpose

The Mount Sinai School Middle Years Program (MYP) serves students in Grades 6 through 8, providing a supportive, academically rigorous environment that bridges the transition from primary to secondary education. Our MYP is designed to challenge students intellectually while nurturing their social, emotional, and personal development during these formative years.

A Holistic, Learner-Centered Approach

At the heart of our Middle Years Program is the belief that students learn best when they are engaged, inspired, and given real-world context for their learning. Our curriculum encourages:

  • Interdisciplinary Learning: Students make meaningful connections across subjects—such as math, science, literature, and humanities—to develop a deeper understanding of the world.

  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Lessons are designed to promote inquiry, analysis, and innovation, preparing students to face complex challenges with confidence.

  • Personal Growth and Responsibility: The MYP emphasizes ethical decision-making, emotional intelligence, and global citizenship, helping students grow into thoughtful, responsible individuals.

  • Project-Based Learning: Students apply their knowledge in collaborative projects that integrate creativity, research, and communication.

A Nurturing Environment for Adolescents

Our experienced educators understand the unique needs of middle school learners. We provide structure, guidance, and encouragement while fostering independence, resilience, and a strong sense of identity.

Beyond Academics

The MYP includes a wide range of extracurricular activities, service-learning opportunities, leadership development, and character education. Students are encouraged to explore their passions and discover their potential beyond the classroom.
